Paper bee craft for kids
Create this cute paper bee craft! It’s almost springtime, so time to create and learn about our yellow-buzzing friends. Even though many kids are scared of bees, they are a lot of fun to know about. Bees are some of the essential creatures we share this planet with. These buzzing beauties are responsible for almost one of every three food bites. With that in mind, it’s important to teach future generations the importance of protecting our yellow friends, the bees. A great way to respect them more and make them less scary is by creating fun and cute bee crafts like this paper bee craft. This guy might look complicated to fold, but paper fans are one of the simplest origami creations. So, let’s get started.

Step 2: Fold a paper fan of each yellow square. Start at one end of the paper. Fold about a one-inch crease, and follow that with another one-inch crease in the opposite direction. Repeat this until the entire paper is folded. Then fold them in half and glue the two sides together to create a paper fan. See the picture above. Repeat this process for each yellow square.

Step 3: Now you have four yellow fan shapes. You can glue them together to create a circle; please see the picture above.
Step 4: From a piece of black paper, you cut four strokes from about 1 inch (2 cm); of course, this depends a little bit on the size of your bee. Cut also one black triangle sting. Glue them on your yellow circle fan.

Step 5: Take a piece of blue paper and cut out two blue wings. With a black sharpie, we outlined the wings so they would stand out more, but this is optional. Glue them on the back of your yellow circle.
Step 6: Take two googly eyes and glue them on your bee. We first glued them on two plastic lids, so the eyes pop out more, but this is optional. If you don’t have googly eyes, you can also use plastic caps, buttons, or two black paper circles for eyes instead.
Step 7: Cut a pipe cleaner in half and glue on each half a pom-pom. These are the bee’s feelers; glue these to the back. We used a glue gun to ensure the pipe cleaners stuck to the paper.
