Why Choose a Paper Fish Craft?
Fish crafts are a hit with kids of all ages, and here’s why: there are over 30,000 fish species in the world, each with their own shapes, colors, and patterns. This makes fish crafts for preschoolers and older children an exciting opportunity to explore colors and textures while practicing fine motor skills and creativity.

Step 1: Gather all your craft supplies listed above.
Step 2: Choose your favorite origami paper (or square-cut paper from about 15×15 CM).
Step 3: Fold the paper diagonally to form a triangle.
Step 4: Place the triangle with the folded edge at the top and open ends at the bottom.
Step 5: Using a pencil and ruler, mark lines about 1.5 cm apart along the edges.
Step 6: Cut along the marked lines, stopping before the top edge, see image A.
Step 7: Unfold the paper and begin folding the strips inward toward the center, see image C above for reference.
Step 8: One by one, glue each strip in the middle to create a woven, 3D fish body. See images D and E above.
Step 9: Fold the fish tail, to flatten the edges, see image F above. You can give it a little cut if preferred.
Step 10: Add a rounded diamand shape paper for the head, see image F. This will make the face of your fish.
