Step-by-step craft instructions
Step 1: Gather the craft supplies you need for this craft.
Step 2: Start with a recycled piece of cardboard. You´ll need one half a circle for the body of the hedgehog. One triangle for the head and four triangle shape feed. You can first draw your hedgehog pieces on scrap paper. When you´re happy with your hedgehog sketch, you can trace the pieces on cardboard. Cut out all your cardboard pieces.
Step 3: Before we will glue the hedgehog together. We´re going to make the body of the hedgehog green. For this, you can use green paper (like you see in the picture) or paint the body green. We used zigzag scissors to give the hedgehog a zigzag border, but this is optional.
Step 4: Now, we will glue the hedgehog pieces together. You can layer the cardboard pieces (see picture, step 1) so your hedgehog has more dimension. For layering, you can use your leftover scrap cardboard pieces.
Step 5: Let´s give our hedgehog a face. You can draw a mouth and an eye with a black marker or use a googly eye. You can also provide the hedgehog with pink cheeks and a pom-pom nose. If you don´t have a pom-pom, you can switch the pom-pom nose for a lid, button, bead, or anything else you can find around the house.
Step 6: Before we can add the flowers, we will poke some holes. You can use a craft knife, stump needle, or screwdriver.
Step 7: Yay, great job so far! Now we can decorate our hedgehog with flowers. We used different flower sizes and colors to give the hedgehog his flower power look. You can take your hedgehog outside, gather the flowers and poke them through the holes. Or collect the flowers beforehand and make the flower arrangement at home.
