Penguin spoon puppet
Craft supplies penguin spoon puppet:
- Wooden/bamboo spoons or plastic spoons
- Black and orange felt or paper
- Googly eyes
- Scissor
- Glue (preferably glue gun)
Step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: For the penguin’s body, you can use black felt fabric or black paper. Take your black felt/paper and cut out an oval (egg shape), and make sure the oval is more significant than the spoon. If you’re unsure about the size, look at the picture below. Another option is to sketch your oval on paper and compare it with your spoon to see if you have the correct size.
Step 2: Your spoon will be the belly of the penguin; please take a look at the pictures for an example. To make the belly stick in the middle, make a little cut in your black oval shape, about ½ inch from the bottom. Make sure the cut is just big enough to slide your spoon in.
Step 3: Create two raindrop-shaped wings from black felt or paper.
Step 4: Create a beak and flippers from orange felt or paper.
Step 5: Glue the wings, googly eyes, beak, and flippers on your penguin body.
Step 6: As a finishing touch, we gave our penguins some party hats, but you can also give them a little scarf, or maybe your penguin can hold a fish. It’s totally up to you.
Iceberg craft instructions
Craft supplies:
- A box/cardboard
- White and blue paint
- Glitter (optional)
Step 1: The iceberg is crafted from a recycled upside-down box which used to hold a device. If you don’t have a similar package, use an upside-down egg carton box or craft an iceberg shape from cardboard.
Step 2: Take your box or cardboard shape and paint it all white.
Step 3: After the white paint is dry, go over the bottom part with some blue shades.
Step 4: To finish up the iceberg, we used some glitter.
