Step-by-step craft instructions for jellybean tree craft
Step 1: Go outside with the kids and search for the perfect branch for your jellybean tree craft. Preferably a branch with many side branches. If you can’t find your ideal branch, you can combine multiple smaller branches in one vase (nobody will notice).
Step 2: Rinse off your branch(es) and dry them. You can paint your branches white or leave them in a natural color.
Step 2: Take a bowl or plate for the jelly beans; this works easier, especially with multiple kids. You can also introduce some extra jelly bean math or color sorting here.
Step 3: Preheat the glue gun and place it on a cardboard or (old) plate in case it leaks glue. Help the young kids put the glue on the jellybeans. Older kids might be able to use a glue gun themselves. Hold the jellybeans on the branch for 10 seconds until they are secure. You can ask your child to count to ten with each jellybean for extra math practice.
Step 4: Make sure all the little side branches are decorated with colorful jelly beans.
Step 5: Place your jellybean tree in a lovely vase when the branch is fully decorated. I recommend using a vase with a small opening (something like this); the branches get heavy, so a small opening keeps them in place. You can add some old newspaper pages to the vase to secure the jellybean tree.
And that’s it; making a jelly bean tree could not be easier. Are you looking for more Easter or spring-themed craft ideas? Why don´t you try this DIY Easter garland with a free craft printable?
